ORGANIC BOX SCHEME

Food is transported many miles to food processing companies before being sent out to the supermarkets. This leads to an increase in road and air traffic which causes increased congestion, pollution and wasting natural resources. An alternative is to buy goods locally direct from the producer or from their local stockist.

Buying food direct helps support local, small scale producers as well as stimulate trade, promote local employment and keep money in the local economy. This is a very convenient way to shop and you are supporting local producers.
