Our Story

A Scottish lass called Sarah with a passion for crafting moved to rural Lincolnshire to study cats and set up home in a little cottage. Little did she know that what cats love best is a particular kind of crafting – upcycling! They are experts at it, bringing in beautiful autumn leaves and sycamore seeds through the cat flap and using them to create wonderful new toys. What clever cats – making new fabulous things out of old things borrowed from nature. Sarah’s cats inspired her to use items from nature in her own crafting and she began creating a range of little baby fairies wearing acorn caps foraged from her village who slept in wee walnut beds foraged from both Lincolnshire and France – cross channel foraging!

and so they decided it was time to give themselves a name and an identify to do honestly to their past, present and future creations.

And that’s how Metamorphosis was born: two people (with the ‘help’ of two cats!) with a love for creating beautiful gifts from those items in our lives that are often abandoned and from those that are given to us by nature.
Meanwhile, not so far away lived a lovely Lincolnshire lad called Stuart who Sarah loved, not only for his Scottish name but for his equal love of animals, crafts, nature and……upcycling! Stuart began scouring antiques and second hand shops and discovered a love for another “s” sounding thing…..Spoons! Stuart began to hammer and letter punch spoons giving the old unloved crockery beautiful new purposes in life from tokens of love to tags for veggies and herbs.

Presents were made for friends and family and soon Sarah and Stuart were selling their creations at local craft fairs and on folksy. New friends were made and shops near and some even
